When I decided to make Jason's block , I realized that I had never sewn before! Jason told me, "Mom, it doesn't matter how it turns out because it comes from the heart." He wanted to pick out the fabric and he chose it wisely. Since he was little he had loved eagles. The eagle stood for "freedom and peace" to him. After many surgeries and a heart transplant, Jason died on August 9, 2001. I miss him very much and this quilt block means more to me than words can say. He acknowledged his CHD but never gave in to it. He fought hard and now he is soaring with the eagles...he has his "freedom and peace."
