I heard about the CHD Quilt Project in late 2000, almost a year after our little Zachary passed away during surgery to repair one of his 2 congenital heart defects. I added Zachary's name to the request form. Zachary may have only been 5 months and 28 days old when he passed away, but he knew what he loved and he loved Tigger. In my request to have a square made for him, I informed J.D and Nancy about his love for Tigger. They found the most perfect material for his square, Winnie The Pooh and Tigger too. I know that Zachary is smiling from Heaven every time he sees his square. We also asked that a little angel be placed in the corner of Zachary's square, looking down over his baby brother Noah's square. Zachary's baby brother was also born with a CHD and every night I ask Zachary to keep a close watch over his baby brother, Zachary's square shows him doing just that.
